Luxgen is a name the majority of you won't have heard of; it is Taiwan's largest car manufacturer and is just coming off the back of the 2009 Dubai Motor Show, where it displayed vehicles coupled with technology from the mobile phone manufacturer HTC.
The ethos behind the 'Smart' technology that will be embedded into all Luxgen cars is to aid the driver. A new computer system named 'Think+' features video and audio capabilities along with satellite navigation and safety alerts.
The vehicles will also feature "Eagle View+" that apparently lets the driver see 360 degrees around the car. Night Vision+, Side View+ and a lane departure warning system dubbed LWDS+ are also fitted to the Luxgen cars.
Chief Executive Officer of HTC said: "HTC is proud to partner with Luxgen to create a new generation of intelligent vehicles." Luxgen is looking to target markets such as Central America, Russia, China, South East Asia and the Middle East. It remains to be seen if Luxgen will see Britain as a potential market.
