What is it?
Some might still think the rear-wheel drive Gallardo Balboni the purest version, but Lamborghini claims that this LP 570-4 Superleggera is the ultimate driver's car. It's lighter, more powerful and, rather erroneously, greener than the standard Gallardo.
Why's it here?
This is essentially the ultimate embodiment of the Gallardo, with a 10bhp power hike to 562bhp, and a weight loss programme comprising liberal use of titanium and carbon. The wheels are lighter too, and the suspension is stiffened up. And you'll have noticed the rear wing - part of a raft of aerodynamic improvements.
Show stopper or floor filler?
Are you kidding? 0-62mph comes in 3.4 seconds, and because of the weight advantage, it emits less CO2 and consumes less fuel than the standard car. It will, however, cost £30k more, at about £180,000, when it hits the shops in spring.
