For those of you who don't live in Japan (which is probably most of you), the extent of your Tommy Kaira experience is likely to be the same as ours: you bought that strange little roadster on Gran Turismo 4 then regretted spending the money because it wasn't as fast as it looked, then switched the console off without saving it. Problem solved.
Back in the real world - in Japan anyway - Tommy Kaira is a legit tuner with a wealth of experience at tuning Japanese hyper performance cars (
and the Prius) within an inch of their carbon bonnets. Now it's turned its attention to the ultimate: the Nissan GT-R.
It's called the Silver Wolf, and although the changes are largely visual, the suspension is beefed up, as are the brakes and the exhaust system. The body kit is unique, featuring extensive use of carbon for the front splitter, and a lovely discrete racing diffuser housed below a big rear wing. The engine is unmodified, but no doubt the exhaust liberates a few extra horses. It's all available now, and the prices for each component are on Tommy Kaira's website in Yen if you want to do the conversion and wade through lots of Japanese text. We don't.
