Aston Martin has been testing its £1.2m One-77 supercar prior to a 2010 launch and it has comfortably exceeded 200mph. That's hardly surprising given the super-exclusive machine is powered by a 7.3-litre V12, which is expected to produce in excess of 700bhp. The carbon-fibre machine was clocked at 220mph during the tests, which took place at a proving ground in southern Europe. Aston Martin claims that the result exceeded original expectations, suggesting there could be more to come.
The early initial performance testing will be backed up by dynamic tests early next year as Aston Martin readies its £1.2m flagship for sale. First deliveries of the 77 customer cars are due to start mid-2010, the individually specified machines being uniquely finished to each individual customer's exact specifications.
