Lamborghini was amongst the prestige manufacturers whose vehicles were chauffeuring celebrities to the launch of the latest Pirelli calendar on 20th November.
For the ceremony, Sant' Agata provided a
Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, a
Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder and the latest
Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni. The cars were fitted with concealed LED lamps in the wheel arches to illuminate the Pirelli tyres. Among the celebrities present were singer, songwriter James Blunt and English model Lady Victoria Hervey.
Pirelli and Lamborghini have a long standing partnership, with the Milanese company developing tyres to match Lamborghini's cars. Pirelli is the official tyre supplier for the one-make Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo race series and the Lamborghini Academy, which organises track-based driving courses.
The relationship between the two firms was documented in a short film, Mission Zero. In the eight-minute feature Uma Thurman drives a Gallardo through the streets of Los Angeles, evading a series of gun-wielding assassins. Although no longer on the Pirelli Film website Mission Zero can still be found on
YouTube.
