| New concept | 2008 Moscow Motor Show | Mazda crossover concept |
The latest in Mazda's line of concept cars will make its debut at the
Moscow International Automobile Salon at the end of August. It follows in Mazda's current Nagare theme for its concept cars, where Nagare means 'to flow' in Japanese.
Mazda says the new concept has been designed specifically for the Russian market and its latest creation is 'a sporty, compact crossover SUV'. Around 20% of new car sales in Russia are SUVs and younger buyers are becoming a much larger force as their spending power grows.
No name has been announced for the Mazda concept, but it follows in the wheel tracks of the
Ryuga,
Hakaze,
Taiki and
Furai, which are all strong pointers to Mazda's new design direction. Insiders at Mazda say these concepts are a strong hint at how its next generation of models will look.
