Vauxhall has revealed the interior of its new Insignia family car, which will be launched at the
British Motor Show in July. The Insignia will feature chronometer-style main dials and a unique instrument lighting system.
In normal driving, the main dials will be illuminated with white back-lighting, but when the driver selects Sport mode the back-lighting will switch to red. The interior lighting will also use an amber colour to "enhance the night driving environment".
The main dash features a 'wing' that flows from the instrument panel and into the doors. Vauxhall says the materials used in the Insignia set a new standard for the family car class.
John Puskar, Executive Director of Interior Design, said: "This is a paradigm shift for Vauxhall. We wanted to create interior environments for all our future vehicles that are warm, inviting and sporty. The Insignia is the first evidence of this philosophy."
Vauxhall is yet to confirm equipment specification for the Insignia, but all models will come with MP3 connectivity. There will also be an electronic handbrake to save space and a large storage box between the front seats.
