Only 35 lucky people will be able to buy the latest Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and for their 349,800 Euros plus VAT they will get the most powerful Porsche 911 racer yet built.
The 465bhp RSR uses a normally aspirated 3.9-litre version of the 911's flat-six engine and drives through a six-speed sequential manual gearbox borrowed from Porsche's RS Spyder sports prototype racer.
Other mechanical upgrades include revised suspension settings to improve grip and to offer teams a certain amount of optimisation to set up the car for different race tracks. The brakes have also been increased in size to cope with the rigours of racing, even though the RSR tips the scales at only 1,225kg.
Aerodynamic changes include 'flicks' on the front spoiler to create more downforce and smooth air flow over the RSR. The rear wing is carried over from the previous GT3 racer.
Porsche will provide the 35 fortunate racers will a full spares and technical back-up service and the GT3 RSR is expected to be on the grid for this year's Le Mans 24 Hours. It will compete in the GT2 category, despite its name.
