Host of the USA's Tonight Show, Jay Leno, teamed up with General Motors to design the outrageous EcoJet concept, which GM revealed at this year's SEMA show.

The concept's racecar-like styling hides a bio-diesel-fuelled Honeywell LT-101 turbine producing up to 650bhp and 400lb.ft of torque.

To fit the powertrain in, GM modified a Corvette Z06 hydroformed aluminium frame and the body shell itself is constructed in carbon fibre over Kevlar.

We don't think there are plans to produce this car, but it's interesting to see GM experimenting with alternative fuels and propulsion systems.
