Another day, another special edition of the magnificent Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. Following on from the 007-themed OHMSS edition and, of course, the majestic Zagato, now we've got the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Concorde. Built as part of the Aston Martin Wings Series to celebrate 50 years since the supersonic Aérospatiale/BAC jet first took flight, the DBS Concorde sits in a lineage with the Vantage S Red Arrows Edition, the Vantage Blades Edition and the V12 Vantage S Spitfire 80. The DBS Concorde has been commissioned by Aston Martin Bristol, which sits very near to Aerospace Bristol at Filton - the place that now plays home to the last Concorde ever to fly and the location at which the BA Concorde planes were manufactured. Marking this Superleggera out are bespoke side strakes milled from solid aluminium, a bespoke paintjob with the British Airways colours on the roof strake, aero blade and rear diffuser, a black-tinted carbon-fibre roof with a Concorde silhouette graphic, the BA Speedmarque logo in chrome on the front wings, a unique Q by Aston Martin wing badge with a black enamel infill, unique and authentic jet-black Civil Aviation Authority aircraft identifier numbers, and bespoke inspection plaques signed by both Dr Andy Palmer, the president and CEO of Aston Martin Lagonda, and BA chairman Alex Cruz. Inside, there's a Concorde logo on the front-seat facings, a Mach Meter graphic embroidered onto the driver's side sun visor, a unique headliner with a printed Alcantara 'sonic boom' rendering, paddle shifts made from titanium sourced from Concorder's compressor blades, Terence Conran-designed floor mats, bespoke sill plats, and seatbelt buckle badges milled from solid aluminium. The DBS's 5.2-litre biturbo V12, developed 725hp and 900Nm, is untouched, so the Concorde edition can go fast - it'll top out at 211mph, 0-62mph takes just 3.4 seconds, and 0-100mph is done and dusted with in a mere 6.4 seconds. Mind, none of these stats are as fast as the iconic plane version, of course. Just 10 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Concorde edition cars will be built and sold, all of them available through Aston Martin Bristol. The price is not confirmed.
