What's this, then?
It's the new Morgan.
Go on, pull the other one.
No, honestly, it is new. In fact, it's the Plus Six, and it's so new that it actually has an all-new platform underneath, called the CX.
But it looks like Bertie Wooster's Sunday ride...
Yes, it does, but underneath it's very high tech. That CX platform mixes lightweight bonded aluminium construction with ash wood supports for the bodywork. Oh, and power comes from a BMW 340hp 3.0-litre straight-six.
Hang on, isn't that the engine in the Toyota Supra too?
It sure is, and it'll catapult this Plus Six to 62mph in just 4.2secs. Seems like Morgan test driver Shane Kelly will be having some find hurling it up the hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, where the Plus Six will be making its debut.
Anything else?
Toby Blythe, Morgan Motor Company Head of Marketing said: "It is with great pride that Morgan Motor Company can represent the history and evolution of the automobile in Britain at the nation's largest, and best loved automotive event. The Festival of Speed has become a national institution over the last quarter of a century, and we are delighted to have our newest, and most exciting sportscar going up the famed Goodwood hill. The Plus Six's dynamic global debut is an incredibly significant event in the 110th year of Morgan's wonderful history, and there is no greater place to present the car than the Goodwood Festival of Speed."
