This chunky-looking contrivance is the Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer, which made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show - and, if you'll permit us some wild conjecture, it's probably (with a little toning down) going to become the next generation of the Outlander PHEV. Named after a Swiss skiing resort, the Engelberg Tourer uses the latest twin-motor, 4WD PHEV drivetrain from the Japanese company, which means a 2.4-litre petrol engine augmented by electrical power. It'll go up to 43 miles on its EV propulsion alone and up to 434 miles with fuel tank and battery both in tip-top condition, while up top there's a super-cool, LED-toting roof box arrangement and enough space inside for three rows of seating. Mitsubishi also showed off the Dendo Drive House in Geneva, which is the company's idea for house and EV/PHEV working in harmony, supplying charge back and forth to power the vehicle/home as required, using the most energy-efficient means - such as solar panels on the roof of the building.
