What's all this about?
David Brown Automotive (DBA), the 'revisionary' coach-building company founded by eponymous Yorkshireman David Brown (not the Aston Martin guy himself, mind...), is readying its third project for the Geneva Motor Show - and it's said to be the company's 'most performance-focused model' yet.
Is this the company that gave us the quite expensive DB5-like Speedback GT and the Mini Remastered?
Yes indeed, the Speedback was way more than half a million quid and the Mini rocked in at around £100,000, so don't expect this newcomer to be cheap. However, it should prove interesting; DBA says the machine is put together with a commitment to bespoke British handcraftsmanship (what a lovely word!) and is the company's vision of a high-performance, classic grand tourer.
How many are we getting?
No confirmations as yet, but DBA says it will be 'strictly limited' and each one will be hand-built at the company's headquarters at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, 'absorbing the location's famous racing and aeronautical heritage into the car's high-octane pedigree' in the process.
What does Mr Brown say about this?
CEO David Brown (the non-Aston one) said: "This is something that we've been looking forward to doing since launching Speedback GT and I can't wait to reveal more. With its unprecedented levels of performance, this vehicle allows the David Brown Automotive brand to appeal to our existing customers and new ones alike. The car brings yet another exciting opportunity for our company."
When will it be revealed?
During a press conference at the Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday, March 6.
