What's all this about?

We hear you. You've got a Lamborghini Aventador S, but something's still missing. You want to hear that V12 even more, feel the wind in your hair, take in the (mostly) admiring gawps from onlookers. What a conundrum to have. If only there was a way...

Remove the roof! Of course...

Simple, isn't it? Finished in this instance in stunning Blu Aegir paint, the now familiar Aventador shape looks as dramatic as ever with the 'S' body revisions and wheels. The roof panels can be finished in a variety of hues thanks to the Sant'Agata firm's 'Ad Personam' program, although they'll spend

Any mechanical changes?

Not that you'd notice, although being an 'S', this car benefits from numerous chassis upgrades like magnetic dampers and four-wheel steering, optimised ESC and all-wheel drive settings. Power and torque to the tune of 740hp and 690Nm propel the Lambo to a top speed of 217mph, taking three seconds to hit 62mph along the way. The Roadster is actually 50kg heavier than the Coupe due to the additional bracing required, but there's nothing in it performance-wise.

How much?

A spicy 251,462 before taxes, and that's without plundering the Ad Personam catalogue in any great depth. Worth it? Boss Stefano Domenicali reckons so (as is his want), stating, "The Aventador S Roadster offers the thrill of open-air driving without compromising on driving dynamics or the occupants' comfort, and adds a further luxurious dimension through the personalisation options available."

Anything else?

Lamborghinis are the stuff of schoolboy fantasy, so how about some fun facts to restore a bit of child-like wonder into your cynical soul? The Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) transmission can shift gears in 50 milliseconds. There's a driving mode called 'EGO'. The rear window can be electrically lowered to fill the cabin with V12 song. Carbon ceramic brakes are standard. Impressed? Thought so.
