I know, right? That's what we're going to call the 'Valkyrie effect' from now on. Even without turning a wheel in anger it looks extremely fast. Here we have a new set of shots released by Aston Martin as the two-seat supercar (co-developed with Adrian Newey and Red Bull Advanced Technologies, remember) gets nearer to completion. The images reveal an obsessive commitment to huge dollops of downforce (check out that rear diffuser - it's ginormous!) while maintaining attractive and minimal lines. It appears that you could actually crawl under the car, as the cabin is raised up and shaped by twin Venturi tunnels to channel the air to that diffuser.
Stunning. Looks small...
And it is, but Aston is adamant that the cabin can fit two 98 percentile adults comfortably, seated in a reclined position in chairs that are moulded into the carbon tub to save space and weight. The rest of the cockpit is just as minimal, with all controls on the rectangular steering wheel and several display screens. Those outer two, incidentally, replace door-mounted mirrors, and they're fed pictures by cameras at the back of the Valkyrie.
