What's all this about?

Rolls-Royce is a luxury brand, right? So it obviously has very well-heeled clients, whose incredible imaginations are only limited by their colossal bank accounts. This means there's a Bespoke department in Goodwood that can basically cook up your wildest dreams. Like paintwork made out of 1,000 diamonds.

Very funny! What has Bespoke actually come up with?

Er... paintwork made out of diamonds. Seriously. There will be three cars from the Bespoke department and a huge, mirrored replica sculpture of the Spirit of Ecstasy on the Rolls-Royce stand at the Geneva Motor Show - and the Ghost Elegance is the most opulent, ludicrous thing of the lot. A total of 1,000 ethically-sourced diamonds were crushed down into a fine powder and then incorporated into paint, at the behest of an individual R-R collector. The resulting 'Diamond Stardust' paintwork thus adorning the Ghost's body is therefore the most expensive finish a car has ever seen.

Crikey! What other Bespoke cars are on the stand?

The design team at Goodwood has come up with the 'Dawn - Inspired by Fashion'. More specifically, London Fashion Week styles in the colour-blocking manner. This procedure, attributed to Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, sees opposing colours paired up together to striking effect. It has been used in clothes, and so now R-R Bespoke has used it on an Andalusian White Dawn, accented with Mugello Red, Cobalto Blue and Mandarin - the first time these three colour choices have been seen together. Probably for good reason.
