What's all this about?
Three highly important Toyotas are going to be on display at March's Geneva Motor Show.
OK, what's the first vehicle?
Called the C-HR Concept, this melds a five-door coupé body onto the high-riding chassis of an SUV. Think of the like of the BMW X4 and you'll get the general idea. Furthermore, the C-HR previews the future look of all of Toyota's models, so it's a clear indication of where the brand is heading design-wise.
Fine. And alongside that?
There's the Proace Verso MPV and the look of this is easy to predict, if you've got a decent imagination. In the same vein as Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota collaborating on the C1, 108 and Aygo city cars, now the three companies have come together to make this big people carrier. So, just like the Citroen SpaceTourer or the Peugeot Traveller we told you about a few weeks back, the Proace Verso will be rather van-like in shape, with its body capable of coming in three different lengths and seating up to nine people. In your mind's eye, just take a Toyota front grille and light clusters and then slap them on the SpaceTourer or Traveller and voila; you'll have your Proace.
Makes sense. So what's the final model? A new Supra?
We wish. It's still a good 'un, though, as the latest Hilux pick-up will be unveiled in Geneva. With an entirely new design sitting on a stronger ladder-frame chassis and powered by a 2.4-litre D-4D engine, Toyota says this is its toughest Hilux yet in 48 years of making the thing. And that's a bold claim from the Japanese company, we can tell you.
