What's all this about?
Nissan has done a super-limited edition version of the R35 GT-R, to celebrate 45 years of the, er... Skyline legend. And yes, we know the GT-R is no longer a Skyline, but you get the point.
Has it got some 800hp firebreathing motor, then?
Umm, no, it's the same 3.8-litre VR38DETT motor as in a 'regular' GT-R, although 550hp is more than acceptable power. This is essentially a styling piece.
What's been done to it?
The GT-R is painted in Champagne Gold, which is the same distinctive hue as that found on the R34 Skyline GT-R M Spec released in 2001. Inside, a Premium Black interior is complemented by an exclusive 45th Anniversary plaque. Under the bonnet is a plate featuring each car's limited edition number.
Is that all?
Yes. Yes, it is.
How much does it cost, and how many are available?
Of the 100 that will be built worldwide, just five are coming to the UK and they'll cost £79,780, which is a 'modest' £1,785 premium on the standard car. What price exclusivity, eh?
