What's the news?
You've probably not heard of James Glickenhaus, but he's our kind of guy. Having made a fortune in the finance industry, Glickenhaus seems set on blowing his vast wealth on a series of supercar products. He's already turned a sixties Lola T70 racer into a road car and had Pininfarina take a Ferrari Enzo and turn it into a thing of retro-sixties gorgeousness. Now he has his own supercar.
This is the SCG 003 and it's a carbon-fibre doorstop powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbo Honda V6 engine with 530hp. Considering that the 003 weighs about as a much as a loaded-up Ford Focus, we'd expect performance to be pretty explosive. Glickenhaus isn't giving away any specific figures yet but the weight distribution is 49:51, front:rear and if you ask him nicely, he'll stick a twin-turbo V12 in there for you.
Better yet, Glickenhaus wants to blow even more of his money by, apparently, setting up a Le Mans LMP1 racing programme to take on the big boys of Audi, Toyota, Porsche and Nissan. God bless you Mr Glickenhaus - you're living the life we want...
