Hang on; Lexus is building a MINI rival?
Well, it might be and this, the LF-SA concept, could be our first look at how Lexus would make a rival to the MINI and the Audi A1. So far, we know nothing other than what Lexus is willing to tell us ahead of the car's Geneva show reveal, which is that "the LF-SA has been conceived as a luxurious, driver-focused vehicle, designed to address a future world that is more influenced by technology and virtual experiences. The new concept reflects Lexus's passion for new design trends and explored unexpected territories for the brand."
That doesn't say much...
Agreed, but the rumour mill has been churning out much in the way of Lexus MINI rumours of late, so it's certainly possible. Either way, the LF-SA certainly gives us a look at the evolution of Lexus' sharp-toothed 'spindle' grille, which now gets shorter at the top and longer at the bottom.
What will it have under the bonnet?
If this is a mini-Lexus (or a Lexus MINI) then expect it to be based on the same mechanical package as the Toyota Yaris Hybrid - a move that could be potentially awful as the Yaris Hybrid is absolutely no fun to drive. We'll have to wait and see on this one...
