What's all this about?
An exciting bit of rumour-mongering ahead of Geneva here, as - despite much in the way of an official press release - it seems Koenigsegg is going to reveal an all-new car at the Swiss motor show in early March.
That's the mad Swedish lot, isn't it?
Correct, makers of the CCX, Agera and One:1 - the latter of which is named for its power-to-weight ratio, given it is just 1,340kg and makes a mammoth 1,340hp. The One:1 is also reportedly capable of 273mph.
So what is the new machine going to be called?
Regera, which in Swedish means to 'reign, rule or govern'. So, as hard as this may be to believe, this new Koenigsegg could slot in at the top of the Swedish company's range.
Wow! What sort of car is it targeting?
Things like the McLaren P1 GTR - also getting a Geneva debut - and the Ferrari FXX K, track-only hypercars (or megacars, if they can make 1,000kW... like the One:1) for the seriously well-heeled. Although you'd say the One:1 does a pretty fine job of that already.
Will Koenigsegg be bringing anything else to the Geneva party?
The Agera RS, an even more hardcore version of the Agera R... which, may we remind you, makes either 960- or 1,140hp, depending on what fuel you run it on. So of course, what you want is an ever quicker version. There is something very strong in the water up at Ängelholm, there's no doubt about that...
