What's all this about?
Infiniti is readying a concept car for the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, which we had a glimpse of prior to Christmas. This is our first full look at it.
What is it?
The Q60 Concept, a 2+2 coupé that shows off the sharp-edged exterior styling that will inform all future Infiniti models.
Is there anything else you can tell me about it at this stage?
Not in terms of mechanicals, although we can say that the interior features hand-stitched seats and carbon fibre accents, while the 21-inch wheels were apparently inspired by jet engine turbines. Meanwhile, Infiniti says there are 'whiffs and traces' (lovely words) of both the Q50 Eau Rouge and Q80 Inspiration cars, such as the side gills behind the front wheel arches (Q50) and the low roofline (Q80).
Will the Q60 Concept make it into production?
It's likely, although it may change substantially from this NAIAS show car. See it in the metal from January 13.
