What's all this about?
This is Lexus' Los Angeles Auto Show star, the LF-C2 concept. It was teased in a hard-to-discern image but now we can have a look at it properly.
And is it a show-stopper?
It's pretty damned handsome, that's for sure. The golden yellow paint is applied in a five-layer process, in which silver is used beneath the yellow to increase the top coat's reflective abilities. The spindle grille, a common feature of current Lexus models, is taken to a new level and incorporates a braided mesh finish. And there's no roof.
No roof?
That's right, the LF-C2 is a pure 2+2 roadster, permanently open to the elements. Of course, if it makes it into production as the RC Cabriolet we think it will become, the realities of the weather mean some sort of covering to protect the passengers will need to make an appearance.
What's powering it?
Who knows? Lexus hasn't revealed anything as yet. Although the 5.0-litre V8 from the RC F wouldn't go amiss. We'll keep an eye on this one as it develops and bring you all the news.
