It seems Nissan has been on the wacky sauce again. Last week the usually demure Japanese company best known for the Qashqai and Micra released concept drawings of a Juke/GT-R hybrid that was quickly christened 'GodJukey.' Sporting so many vents and spoilers that it looked to have driven through a Halfords window the Juke/GT-R was said to sport the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine from the Nissan GT-R meaning a 0-60mph time of less than four seconds - enough to embarrass many a supercar.
Well now it seems that the Juke-R will become a reality. Work is currently under way at Ray Mallock Limited workshops to merge the compact crossover with the slayer of super cars. RML and Nissan have previously come together to produce the V6 powered Micra-R but the new car could make that look like a shopping trolley in comparison.
"Juke lends itself perfectly to a sports derivative and Juke-R explores that territory. Equally at home on road and track, Juke-R showcases two of the most exciting cars in our range and highlights the technical innovation that drives Nissan. This car will more than live up to the dynamic driving experience we engineer into all our cars," said Paul Willcox, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Nissan in Europe.
In addition to the V6 powerplant and revised four-wheel drive system, the Juke-R also borrows 20-inch RAYS wheels, Brembo brakes and a modified dashboard that accommodates the gauges, dials and display from the Nissan GT-R.
