Just in case you have been living under a rock for the past few months and do not know what the Nissan Juke-R (or JukeZilla as it is known around these parts) is here is a quick rundown:
Take all the fun bits - the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, drivetrain and suspension - from the Nissan GT-R supercar and cram them into the body of a Nissan Juke compact crossover. Sounds like one of those ideas jotted down on the back of a beer mat right? Well not only has Nissan built the car it describes as the world's fastest crossover but it is now ready to go into testing.
The unlikely hybrid was officially announced at the Nissan crossover media launch where it made a surprise appearance, but images of the completed car have been limited - until now. Finally we can see that, along with all the GT-R gubbins, the Juke-R has also received a substantial dose of automotive testosterone. The basic shape of the Juke remains but styling touches like the flared arches, 20-inch RAYS alloy wheels and sculpted side skirts mix with functional modifications such as vents in the front bumper and a split rear wing to give the Juke-R a menacing look befitting its 480bhp powerplant.
Unfortunately the Juke-R is a one off model (well technically two - one each in right- and left-hand drive) and will not make it to production. However the road legal concept car is ready to go testing in late November and while we may not be able to drive the car we can at least, for the first time, listen to the V6 engine power up for the first time.
