The Giulietta is a five-door hatchback rival to the Ford Focus and VW Golf. Simple. But then this is an Alfa, so it's drop dead gorgeous and promises 'zesty' handling too.
Why's it here?
The Giulietta is here to meet the world for the first time and show that Alfa can do mainstream hatches every bit as well as it can style coupés. Judging by the looks it's receiving at Geneva, Alfa has hit the target with the Giulietta, so all we need now is to drive it.
Show stopper or floor filler?
Few car makers are capable of bring the Geneva show to a standstill with a small hatch, but Alfa is one of them. The Giulietta looks great and it's the best 100th birthday present the company could have given itself. A range of punchy petrol and diesel engines from the Punto and 159 models also promise to deliver an entertaining drive. All will have automatic stop-start to reduce emissions, while a Cloverleaf model will satisfy hot hatch fans.
