Performance car fans rejoice: Toyota GB has confirmed that the GT86 TRD will go on sale in early 2013. There is one small caveat though: the final specification is yet to be confirmed. However, a fully kitted Toyota Racing Developments (TRD) GT86 was flown in for a recent Toyota dealer conference to gauge reaction, which was overwhelmingly positive.
While we do not yet know of any power improvements we do know the GT86 TRD gets a more aggressive front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser and a boot mounted spoiler. There are also stainless steel rear diffusers and buyers can choose from two different sets of 18-inch TRD alloy wheels.
Assuming the car stays true to the concept shown in Paris the driver will also be rewarded with adjustable shock absorbers, uprated brakes and a high performance exhaust system.
The GT86 TRD was shown alongside an Auris TRD that is currently only available for sale in Japan. The decision on whether to offer the tuned Auris on the UK market is still under discussion.
