Skoda has confirmed that it will produce a five-door version of its Citigo city car with the official unveiling set to take place at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The five-door model is set to go on sale in May alongside the three-door Citigo.
Like the three-door car the more practical Citigo will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine with power outputs of 60- or 75hp. In its most efficient Green tec form, the new Citigo returns 68.9mpg with CO
2 emissions of 96g/km meaning it will be exempt from London's Congestion Charge.
Prices for the five-door Citigo are yet to be announced but are expected to be about £400 more than the three-door model, meaning a starting price of around £8,000.
Following on from the recent announcement concerning the five-door VW up! we await news of its Spanish cousin, the SEAT Mii, to complete the hat-trick.
