The Detroit Auto Show is not yet over; in fact the doors have still to open to the general public, but that has not stopped Infiniti looking forward to the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
A just released teaser previews a sports car concept that Nissan's premium division will unveil in Switzerland this March. The as yet unnamed car will be a range extended electric sports car (like a Vauxhall Ampera only with added verve) that promises low emissions with high performance and the ability to deliver zero emissions while driving in urban environments.
To give the concept its sporty character Infiniti will mount the complex drivetrain in a mid-ship configuration. The new (for Infiniti) layout is also said to 'facilitate a change in vocabulary for Infiniti's design language' so even if the unveiled car does not eventually make it to production it is expected to inspire future models.
Further news on the project will undoubtedly emerge prior to its world premiere at Geneva in March and we will keep you updated. Below is a video showing extra teaser angles of the car, while Francois Bancon (Deputy Division General Manager, Product Strategy and Product Planning of Nissan and Infiniti) talks us through it.
