Volkswagen has produced a limited-run Edition 25 version of the Caravelle. It comes with unique paint, updated styling and extra equipment.
Just 225 examples of the Edition 25 will be sold in the UK, all painted Candy White or Reflex Silver. The model can also be identified by the new front bumper with satin black inserts, echoed on the body sides, roof and tailgate. It also comes with xenon headlamps and LED running lights.
The Caravelle can carry six passengers, and it is possible to swivel the centre seats to create a so-called 'lounge environment'. For the Edition 25 there is three-zone climate control allowing back seat passengers to set the temperature independently. There is also voice activated satellite navigation, parking sensors with rear-view camera and 'Lane Change Assist'.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre Bi-turbo, common rail diesel engine. This develops 178bhp, which is fed through a seven-speed DSG transmission to the front wheels. Volkswagen's 4Motion four-wheel drive system is available as an option.
The official performance figures are 0-62mph in 11.3 seconds (12.1 seconds for the 4Motion), a 119mph top speed (117mph 4Motion) and 34.9mpg (32.1). Carbon dioxide emissions are 214g/km and 232g/km for the all-wheel drive version.
The Caravelle Edition 25 is available to order from Volkswagen Van Centres, priced from £44,995.
