We know we're going to love the new BMW M5, which could explain why BMW is whetting our appetites by filming the super saloon lapping Spain's Ascari circuit.
What we already know about the M5 is that it's packing a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 with 552bhp and a 0-62mph time of 4.4 seconds. We also know its top speed is limited to 155mph and it returns 28.5mpg on average. There's a seven-speed double-clutch gearbox with paddle shifters and 19-inch alloy wheels, too.
What's new is the two-stage M Dynamic Mode, activated via two M buttons on the steering wheel rather than the outgoing M5's single M button. These allow the driver to instantly access a preferred set-up.
Other new technology for the M5 includes brake fade compensation, which maintains the same stable feedback through the brake pedal during extreme driving.
Aside from this, we can also tell you the new M5 sounds superb - you can hear it for yourself on the videos below. It goes on sale for £73,040 in November.
