The underrated FIA GT series is set to be the scene of a great battleground in 2005 with Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and Maserati all in the fray with factory teams. And we Brits have something to cheer on as well: this stunning Aston Martin DBR9. Resplendent in British Racing Green, the DBR9, developed by Prodrive in conjunction with Aston Martin, packs a 600bhp punch from its 6.0-litre V12. It weighs in at just 1,100kg thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre and aluminium. Huge carbon brakes and a six-speed sequential 'box round off the package which promises to be a force to be reckoned with.
Ulrich Bez, the Aston Martin CEO, sees this as the ideal way to heighten brand awareness globally, and given the time and effort that has been put into their assault you have to believe Aston are going to be very competitive from the off.
Aston Martin has also committed to a very limited production run for enthusiasts and collectors, guaranteed to be future classics.
