The future of the WRC looks a little bleaker as both Peugeot and Citroen have announced their withdrawal. The manufacturers cite expense and a lack of return on investment as the main reasons for their decision.
Between them the two French companies have won the last five manufacturers' championships and three of the last five drivers' trophies. PSA says both companies will stay involved in some form of motorsport, but have not specified exactly what categories.
