Peugeot has revealed its new 508 RXH four-wheel drive crossover hybrid. It will be unveiled at September's Frankfurt motor show, with a diesel-electric hybrid powerplant generating 200bhp but emitting just 109g/km of carbon dioxide.
With all-wheel drive and chunky, body panels, the RXH is based on the 508 SW estate. It uses Peugeot's 2.0-litre turbodiesel Hybrid4 engine and an electric motor, which returns 67.2mpg on average. The 508 RXH can run on electric power alone for short distances.
Kitted out with 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and ignition, electric seat adjustment, panoramic sunroof and acoustic laminated side glass, the 508 RXH goes on sale in the UK in the spring of 2012. Prices will be confirmed closer to its on-sale date.
