What is it?
Come off it. You should know what the Jaguar C-X75 is by now. If not, prepare to have your little socks blown off. It's a quad electric motored electric car generating 780bhp and taking juice for the batteries from two turbines that spin to 80,000rpm.
Why's it here?
It's here in LA making its American debut and because, well, Jaguar doesn't have anything else new. That astonishing drivetrain is good for 1,180lb.ft of torque too, which means the car gets to 100mph just 5.5 seconds after the fast pedal is planted from standstill. Yikes. Yet, it has a 560-mile range because of the turbines, and CO
2 emissions of just 38g/km.
Show stopper or floor filler?
This Jag is still a show stopper, and probably would be even at next year's LA show if we saw it every day in the interim. It won't make production, but the technology is good and you never know where it might lead.
