Volvo has announced a new, limited edition version of the S60 T6 with 325bhp. Just 100 examples of the Volvo S60 T6 Design by Heico Sportiv - to use its full title - will be produced costing a little over £53,000. There are currently no plans to bring the model to the UK.
Heico has been tuning and modifying Volvos for over 20 years. The changes to the S60 include an additional engine control module and revised management system. The result is an extra 26bhp and more torque - up to 339lb.ft. To handle the extra power there is permanent all-wheel drive as standard and shorter, sports springs are fitted, lowering the ride height by 30mm.
Transmission is by Volvo's Geartronic automated gearbox and the official performance figures are 0-62mph in 5.8 seconds with a top speed limited to 155mph. Provisional figures for fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are 27.4mpg and 239g/km respectively.
Along with the mechanical changes the T6 Design by Heico Sportiv can be identified by its Black Sapphire metallic paint, 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, two-part front spoiler and new rear diffuser. Being a Volvo the T6 also comes with the usual safety systems including Driver Alert, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) and Pedestrian Detection.
