We were not overwhelmed when Mazda showed us pictures of its
Kiyora concept, but seeing it on the stand drove home that pictures often don't do cars justice. The concept is meant to represent Mazda's thoughts on a future city car, styled with the flow of water in mind. Forget all the designer claptrap and instead look at the cool interior, clear sectioned doors and water filtration system that purifies rainwater for the Kiyora's occupants. It's light too, Mazda pursuing lightweight construction in its quest to reduce emissions and improve economy. A bit nearer production is Mazda's
MX-5 facelift, the Japanese firm mildly making over its hugely successful roadster to give it fresh showroom appeal.
