Kia has revealed the initial petrol and diesel engine line-up for the new Soul. The Korean manufacturer will launch its latest model at the
Paris International Motor Show next month.
A choice of 1.6-litre petrol and diesel motors will be offered in the five-door hatchback-cum-MPV. Both engines produce 124bhp with the turbocharged diesel producing 188lb.ft of torque at 2,000rpm while the petrol delivers 115lb.ft at 4,200rpm. Other markets, including the USA, will be offered a 2.0-litre petrol engine, but this engine will not be fitted to Souls sold in the European market.
The Soul's world premiere will take place on October 2nd at the Paris Salon de l'Automobile where more details will be released. Production will commence in November this year with UK sales scheduled to start next spring.
