| New concept car | 2008 Moscow Motor Show | Mazda Kazamai |
The latest Mazda show car in a long line of swoopy concepts will be shown for the first time in public at the Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS) next month. The Kazamai previews a sporty compact SUV.
Russia is currently one of the biggest markets for compact SUVs, with the segment accounting for 13% of all new car sales in the country. It is expected that Mazda will join this market in the next two years with a new model, possibly called the CX-5.
The Kazamai concept continues the Mazda 'Nagare' flow design language, with its bold lines and massive 22-inch wheels disguising the SUV underpinnings
Hints to a future production model include a new generation of direct injection petrol engine and a dual-clutch transmission with four-wheel drive.
Mazda will take the wraps off the new concept in Moscow on August 26th, at the same time as the Mazda CX-9 is given its Russian debut.
