| All-new model | 2009 SEAT Exeo |
SEAT is set to take on the
Ford Mondeo and upcoming Vauxhall Insignia in the family car sector with its new Exeo. The Spanish saloon is set to go on sale in 2009 and will be based on an Audi-derived platform.
Its name is derived from the Latin word
exire, which means to go beyond. The Exeo definitely goes beyond SEAT's current range and the Spanish maker says it will come with exceptionally high quality and packed with technology.
SEAT is also promising the Exeo will have a sporty edge, with engines drawn from the VW Group empire. Expect petrol engines to start with a 1.4-litre TSI and top out with a 3.6-litre V6. There will also be a range of four-cylinder turbodiesel options.
