Central to Honda's display at the SEMA show was the HF-S Accord Coupé concept, created to demonstrate how technology can play a part in fine tuning the performance of a car. The driver is able to alter the set up of the vehicle in order to vary such aspects as accelerator response, damping and the level of traction control.
With so many elements to play around with, the HF-S is attempting to offer two cars in one. This is also shown in the exhaust system, which is a two-stage design. It is engineered to provide higher levels of performance in more demanding situations, yet be quiet while at slower cruising speeds.
In addition to this concept, Honda also showcased the 2008 Honda Factory Performance (HF-P) coupé. The HF-P package made its debut on the Civic EX Coupé in 2002 and is currently available on the Civic and the Accord.
In 2008, the Accord Coupé HF-P package will see the Sports Suspension package added. This will have the car sitting 25mm lower and should produce the inevitable improvement and handling that comes with a lower centre of gravity.
The suspension package comes in addition to the full body kit and 19-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels that are already available for an HF-P Accord. All HF-P products added at the time of purchase are covered by Honda's 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.
