| Long Term Test | SEAT Exeo ST |
Been anywhere interesting?
Our SEAT is still in Dublin, and it spends most of its time pounding the city streets laden down with our son and his paraphernalia. It has to vie for my attention with a host of other test cars so it does tend to get taken for granted. There's something comforting about it always being there for when it's needed though, even if it's not taking part in many headline-grabbing epic journeys.
Anything stand out...?
A few things actually. I've mentioned the ST's looks in the past and now that more Exeos are on the road I'm convinced that the estate version is the pick of the two. It hides its Audi A4 roots better and lives up to its Sport name - in appearance anyway. Lovely 18-inch rims help with that.
Despite the low profile rubber I've discovered that the Exeo rides significantly better than its similarly-shod Skoda relative, the Octavia vRS Estate. Yet the Skoda isn't any better when pushed. Interesting comparison.
...and for the wrong reasons?
The car can hardly be blamed for this one, but the black paintwork only really looks good when it's spotlessly clean, and I'm just not the kind of person that likes to spend an hour once a week polishing the car. Once a month would be pushing it even... I've noticed that SEAT's Head of Press and Public Relations has just taken delivery of a Dakota Red example and I'm rather jealous.
Where next?
The car wash before the summer finishes. I promise.
