Audi has announced that a new four-cylinder engine is to be available in its A6 (saloon and Avant) and its A7 Sportback. The 2.0-litre 40 TDI engine, which produces 204hp, is the first four-pot unit to grace an A7 and promises fuel economy of around 62mpg and CO2 emissions of 117g/km, which should make it more competitive for business users compared to, say, the A7 45 TDI quattro. All models feature mild-hybrid technology as standard and will initially be only available in front-wheel drive with all-wheel-drive quattro models following later in 2018. Prices start at £38,640 for the A6 saloon 40; £40,470 for the A6 Avant 40 and £47,140 for the A7 Sportback 40.
