Lamborghini has taken the Nürburgring production car lap record, with a 6:44:97 lap time around the fearsome circuit. The Aventador SVJ's new record is just under two and a half seconds faster than Porsche's 2017 attempt, which was achieved in a 911 GT2 RS. Piloted by Marco Marelli, from the onboard cameras, the lap looked undramatic, though the trackside cameras told a different, more hair-raising story. The record comes ahead of the SVJ's official Pebble Beach launch in August and hints at the kind of track-focused beast the car is set to be.
