Mercedes-Benz has taken the covers off a new A-Class Saloon ahead of its public debut at this autumn’s Paris Motor Show. Based on the underpinnings of the new A-Class hatch, it will be offered in A 200 petrol and A 180 d diesel variants to start with, both with automatic transmissions. Complementing a new forthcoming Mercedes CLA, the A-Class Saloon is claimed to be much more spacious in the rear, while just as aerodynamic. Its 0.22 coefficient of drag allows Mercedes to claim that it has the lowest aerodynamic drag figure of any production vehicle in the world. Prices and specifications for the UK will be released closer to the 2019 on-sale date, though it will get the fancy new MBUX infotainment architecture as standard.
