Subaru enters the premium SUV market

Subaru first came to our attention as makers of funny little four-wheel drive estate cars used by impecunious farmers. More recently with Impreza rally cars, big wings and gold wheels. So it may seem a surprise to see Subaru enter the market with a big SUV that competes with the likes of the BMW X5.

We've always favoured the idea of a de-spoilered Impreza with the full WRX arsenal underneath. The spec.D is Subaru's version of discreet.
