Pant Pissing Pace!
Subaru stumbled upon a cult car when it released the Impreza, the relatively anonymous Japanese manufacturer suddenly became the purveyor of the giant killing performance bargain of the '90s, and arguably all time. Times have moved on but the Impreza's status as one of the most desirable driver's cars remains and we jumped at the chance of a week with the legend.

Steering: Rack and pinion with 'Fast-rack' speed sensitive variable capacity power assistance with load pressure sensitive valve. 2.6 turns lock-to-lock.

Brakes: Dual circuit diagonally split hydraulic system with pressure limiting valve and vacuum servo. Brembo ventilated four-pot 330mm front discs and 305mm two-pot rear. Four-sensor, four-channel ABS with EBD.

Wheels: 17.5 x 7 inch alloy as standard. 18-inch OZ alloy finished in Crystal Titanium fitted to test car.
