What's the news?
Skoda has revealed the price and spec list for both the facelifted Skoda Yeti and the new addition to the range, the Yeti Outdoor, in the build-up to their release later this month. From the get-go, the Yeti will come in three trim levels - S, SE and Elegance - with the Yeti Outdoor featuring an exclusive Laurin & Klement option, too.
Exterior
In typical Yeti style, Skoda hasn't scrimped on looks. Every version gets alloy wheels, roof bars, front fog lamps and daytime running lights as standard; and every Yeti Outdoor comes with black protective side mouldings and rugged looking black bumpers, too. Upgrading to SE adds larger 17-inch alloys and privacy glass; while top-spec Elegance models replace the standard daytime running lights with LEDs, add bi-Xenon headlights and cornering fog lamps. Exclusive to the flagship Yeti Outdoor L&K model are bespoke alloy wheels, chrome detailing for the side mouldings, silver roof rails and branded front mud guards. Four new metallic paint finishes have been added to the Yeti's options list as well.
Interior
Like the outside, the interior toys aren't to be sniffed at; as front and rear electric windows, air conditioning and Bluetooth are fitted to every model. SE models come with more equipment such as an upgraded stereo featuring a six-disc changer, aux-in connectivity and four more speakers, dual-zone air conditioning, cruise control and parking sensors. Those buying the Elegance version can enjoy full leather upholstery with heated front seats, automatic wipers and lights and extra storage options. The four-wheel drive Yeti Outdoor also comes with an off-road button, while the L&K version gets branding on its kick-plates, the full brown leather upholstery and dash inserts. A panoramic sunroof, DAB, satellite navigation and a heated windscreen are all part of the package, too.
Mechanicals
The standard Yeti comes with a choice of three engines, while the rugged Yeti Outdoor has six powertrains available. Both cars can be had with either a manual or a DSG automatic gearbox; with the frugal 1.6-litre TDI CR GreenLine II engine available in almost all trim levels. Engines start with a 1.2-litre TSI petrol unit that produces 105hp, and culminate in the range-topping 2.0-litre TDI CR engine that pumps out 170hp.
An abundance of airbags come with every version, with gadgets such as Hill Hold Control coming in on higher grade cars.
Anything else?
The latest Yeti will come to the UK with a starting price of £16,600 for both the Outdoor and the standard version; rising to £27,050 for the Yeti Outdoor in L&K guise with a DSG gearbox. First deliveries are expected to take place in January.
