What's the news?
Due to customer demand Kia has extended its Carens range to include a new top-spec '3 Sat Nav' model. The new version is based on the '3' specification, but, believe it or not, comes with satellite navigation as a standard item.
Exterior
The Kia Carens 3 Sat Nav carries forward the same exterior flourishes as the regular '3' model such as 17-inch alloy wheels as standard. Buyers of the 3 Sat Nav will also enjoy chrome detailing, LED daytime running lights, privacy glass and a panoramic sunroof among other items.
Interior
Inside, the dashboard is adorned with a seven-inch touchscreen satellite navigation system; complete with European maps and a Traffic Management Channel that automatically revises a planned route in order to avoid traffic jams. This is joined by an upgraded, seven-speaker sound system complete with an eight-channel amplifier and sub-woofer - through which media can be played via USB, aux-in or the iPod dock. The improved infotainment system has been added to a car already full of features such as dual-zone climate control, heated leather seats, cruise control and a heated steering wheel.
Mechanicals
Under the bonnet of the 3 Sat Nav is Kia's tried and tested 1.7-litre CRDi unit, which delivers 134hp to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Combined fuel economy for this configuration sits at a respectable 56.4mpg, with CO2 emissions measured at 132g/km.
Six airbags, a five-star Euro NCAP rating and a Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system are also fitted as standard.
Anything else?
The Carens 3 Sat Nav is priced from £24,845, £950 more than the equivalent Carens 3 model. The new top-spec Carens also comes with Kia's seven-year/100,000-mile warranty at no extra cost. The new version is available now across Kia dealerships nationwide.
