What's the news?
Mercedes-Benz has launched the Service App for owners to arrange servicing, repairs and MOT work using their smartphone. Customers can find a dealer, arrange the work, see pricing and complete the booking in real time.
Four budget options are available: Lite, Lounge, Drive and Collect. Lite allows customers to drop their car off in the morning between 8:00 and 10:00 and collect it after 4:30 in the afternoon. With Lounge a fixed appointment can be specified and customers can wait in a dedicated lounge with TV, newspapers, refreshments and wifi. Customers who need a courtesy car can choose Drive. Finally, Collect allows the customer to request that the dealer pick up the car from their home or workplace and deliver it back once the work is completed.
Booking takes four steps: entering registration, mileage, requirements and official workshop. The App then generates a quote and allows a booking to be made at a fixed price.
